How to Guide: Perspex 3D Lettering

What will you need?

• Tape measure
• Masking Tape

Before starting:

• Before beginning to install the 3D Perspex Letters it is important to clean the surface thoroughly. Even if the surface looks clean, there could be dust or grime that could impact on the adhesive.

• Once applied, Perspex lettering can be cleaned with warm soapy water or rubbing alcohol.

Step 1

Before starting take the lettering template and check it fits inside the space.

Step 2

Mark the position for the lettering with a pencil or masking tape. Make sure it is straight by measuring to a known straight edge.

Step 3

Carefully remove the masking tape holding the letters in place and remove letters from the template and put aside for now.

Step 4

Use two additional pieces of masking tape to hold the template in place and step back and check the position. Double-check your measurements adjust if required. Once you are happy with the position secure the template in placing using masking tape over the edges of the template (for larger templates use more tape).

NOTE: If your template comes in two pieces apply side by side to maintain correct spacing.

Step 5

Now letter by letter remove the backing tape (brown and green side) and press the letter into position inside the template. Firmly press and hold the letter for 30 seconds per letter to ensure adhesion.

Step 6

Once complete remove the template from the lettering. Once again firmly press the letters onto the surface. Finally, remove the protective film on the face of the letters and clean if required.
