Give the gift of Guided Inquiry to your students in 2021!

Twelve years ago our great friend Dr Ross Todd put together a collection of videos on the key components of the Guided Inquiry approach to information literacy. Guided Inquiry was and is still one of the leading research based approaches to inquiry learning  in all curriculum areas, K-12.
Dr Ross Todd will challenge your thinking in these two free videos!

TWO FREE VIDEOS TO SUPPORT YOUR PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

1. Background and Rationale of Guided Inquiry (18 minutes)

Evidence suggests that most students learn very little through school library-based research activities. Dr. Todd argues because this is at odds with curriculum specified outcomes, as well as with what we want our students to learn, there are compelling reasons to develop a new approach to such activities.

2, What is Guided Inquiry? (15 minutes)

The Guided Inquiry approach is a means of ensuring teacher-librarians and teachers construct meaningful research activities that result in real learning. This section provides an overview of the Guided Inquiry approach.
